The 2017 Confirmation Class at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is working together with St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ramsey to collect used bicycles for Pedals for Progress.
Pedals for Progress is a non-profit organization that ships and reconditions used bicycles to areas around the world where people need a practical means of transportation but cannot afford automobiles.
The Reverend Dr. Ronnie T. Stout-Kopp commented: “Each young person in the Holy Trinity Confirmation Class is required to complete twenty hours of community service and this bicycle collection will fulfill that requirement while teaching a sense of social concern and responsibility beyond the doors of the church.”
Reverend Stout-Kopp also invites the community to help out with this project. “Do you have a used bicycle around the house? Please consider donating it to this project.”
Bicycles can be dropped off at Holy Trinity on Sundays between 11:15 and 11:45 or on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am and 2 pm. For more information, please e-mail us at HolyTrinity326@optonline.net or call the church office at 201-664-2428 on Tuesday or Thursday between 9-2. Holy Trinity is located at the corner of Hillsdale Avenue and Trinity Place. Bicycles are being accepted now through the first week of April.
